How it works
Wastewater is meant to break down. The trouble is that raw waste sitting in a pond, tank or chamber breaks down slowly, so solids, crust and odour get ahead of the system. Agraforum’s treatment adds the right bacteria in the right numbers, so the breakdown that should be happening actually happens. The bacteria digest the organic matter, work through the solids and crust, and reduce the compounds behind the smell, leaving the system flowing more freely and easier to manage.
It’s an ongoing process, not a one-off dump. Start-up dosing gets the population established; maintenance dosing keeps it working.
The same biological process also helps significantly minimise harmful pathogens in wastewater, including E. coli. That means a lower pathogen load moving through effluent ponds, septic tanks and sewage systems, supporting cleaner treated water and safer wastewater management. On dairy farms, reducing E. coli and related pathogens can also help reduce exposure to bacteria associated with mastitis. This supports good hygiene and system management rather than replacing them.
